just wanted to post a rather inspiring thing i read on the chinese newspaper..
A psychologist wanted to do know, how a peron's mentality can affect their actions, so he started an experiment.
Firstly, he got a group of pple into a totally dark room, and verbally led them through the room. all ten successfully walked through that room.
Next, the psychologist turned on a lamp, and under the low-light conditions, the ten men saw what was in the room. at the bottom of the room, there laid ten over crocs, and they actually walked through that room on a single plankwidth path.
Simultaneously, the psychologist asked them, "who wants to walk through the room again?"
Silence.
After much deliberation, only 3 stepped up.
The first guy, walked extremely cautiously, much slower than when he was being led verbally by the psychologist. The second guy, shakingly walked through half of it but stopped in the middle and started crawling his way across. As for the last guy, he practically only walked 3 steps and crawled his way through.
After this, the psychologist then turned on all the lights in this room. Alas!haha..there was a saftely net under them. but due to the poor lighting before, it was hidden from sight.
Now, the psychologist re-asked the question, "who is willing to cross the room?" but only 5 stepped up.
Bemused, the psychologist asked the remaining guys, "why do you not want to cross the room now?"
Unanimously, they reciprocated a question, "is your net safe?"
SUCCESS is like walking on that plank. the reason for failure, is not due to INABILITY, or due to the Lack of POTENTIAL. but due to the LACK OF CONFIDENCE. thus, you have failed even before you can enter the 'battlefield'.
